The topic of the timeline was raised when Social Democrats councillor Nuala Killeen submitted the following question to Kildare County Council (KCC): “Can KCC provide a current timeline for phased delivery on the Confey Masterplan, including the primary and post-primary school sites, given that Confey is now designated one of Kildare's four priority urban extension sites for accelerated housing delivery, and confirm whether delivery is contingent on completion of the Captain’s Hill upgrade?”
In response to her query, KCC provided a figure of the Indicative Phasing Table for the Confey Masterplan to Cllr Killeen.

Referring specifically to the Captain’s Hill region, KCC said: “Captain’s Hill is to be upgraded as part of Phase 1A.”
“The Part 8 for the Proposed Captain’s Hill Active Travel Scheme was published on July 4 last,” KCC added.
In relation to primary and post-primary schools in the region, KCC had this to say: “The primary school is targeted for delivery in Phase 3.
KCC added: “The Department of Education will be responsible to delivering the proposed schools in alignment with the indicative phasing.”
Furthermore, KCC pointed out that the indicative timeline for the completion of development at the Confey Lands is set out in the table it provided to Cllr Killeen.
However, KCC also emphasised that this projected timeline is subject to change, ‘given the complexity of the infrastructure to be delivered in support of the urban extension’.
Following this, Cllr Killeen told KCC that she accepted its report.
