BEIDH ÉIRE INA “guth pragmatach” ar son margadh tradála idir an tSín agus Aontas na hEorpa, thug an Taoiseach Mícheál Martin le fios agus é ag labhairt le linn chuairt oifigiúil ar an dtír níos luaithe inniu.
Bhí an Taoiseach ag labhairt le heagraí pholataíochta RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, Cuan Ó Seireadáin, tar éis do chruinniú a bheith aige le hUachtarán na Síne, Xi Jinping, ar an Luan.
Dúirt an Taoiseach le linn agallaimh a craoladh ar Adhmhaidin níos túisce inniu go raibh Éire i bhfábhar ‘tradáil oscailte’.
Le linn an dara lá dá chuairt beidh an Taoiseach ag casadh le Príomh Aire na Síne, Li Qiang, agus Cathaoirleach Chomhdháil Náisiúnta na nDaoine, Zhao Leji.
“Sin an meon atá againn le fada an lá anois ach is léir go bhfuil deacrachtaí ann faoi láthair idir Aontas na hEorpa agus ball muid féin den Aontas agus an tSín,” dúirt sé.
Tá teannas áirithe ó thaobh cúrsaí trádála idir Aontas na hEorpa agus an tSín mar gheall go bhfuil dleacht de 45% curtha ag an Aontas ar fheithiclí leictreacha ón tSín mar gheall ar fhordheontais a bhfaigheann na comhlachtaí sa tír sin. Ar an láimh eile, tá an tSín ag éileamh dleachtaí de 42.7% ar earraí déiríochta ón Aontas, dleacht a thiteann go trom ar an dtír seo, tar éis gur thosnaigh siad fiosrú i Lúnasa 2024 ar fhordheontais a thugann ballstáit an Aontais d’fheirmeoirí.
“Níl aon amhras ach go mbeidh iarrachtaí á dhéanamh ag an gCoimisiún {Eorpach], go háirithe, an scéal trádála a fheabhsú agus beimidne mar guth pragmatach ann.
“Caithfimid gach aon rud a chur san áireamh agus mar a dúirt mé táimid go léir ag iarraidh conradh cuimsitheach idir an Eoraip agus agus an tSín.”
Agus é ag tagairt don gcruinniú le hUachtarán na Síne, dúirt an Taoiseach go raibh sé cáirdiúil agus tairbheach.
“Tá coimitimint laidir againn araon cur leis an gcaidreamh Éire-An tSín amach sa todhchaí.”
Ina ráiteas dúirt an Uachtarán Xi go raibh gá le forbairt seasmhach is fád tréimhseach ar na ceangail idir an tSín agus Éirinn agus go raibh an tSín ag súil go neartófaí cumarsáid straitéiseach le hÉirinn agus go gcuirfí leis an muinín pholatúil ar an dá thaobh dá chéile.

Beidh an Taoiseach ag taisteal ó Bheising go Shanghai, áit a gcasfaidh sé ar mhéara na cathrach, Gong Zheng, agus beidh cruinnithe aige ann le ceannairi gnó Éireannach agus Síneach.
Is í an tSín an páirtí trádála is mó ag Éirinn san Áis agus tá sí sa chúigiú áit de thíortha a bhíonn an tír seo ag trádáil leo ar fud na cruinne.
