The board of management of St Patrick’s National School in Farmullagh, Moyne have filed an application for planning permission.

The school is seeking permission for the construction of an Astroturf Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) playing surface, sensory play area, fencing, landscaping and all site developments works associated with the proposal.

As the school is under the patronage of the Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise, the file included a letter from Bishop Paul Connell confirming consent for the land to be used for the proposed development.

Longford County Council is expected to return a decision on the proposal by June 17.
