Killyverry speeding camera fines

A number of drivers who did not pay their fixed penalty notices after being detected speeding by a fixed speed camera near Newtowncunningham, were fined in court this week.

At Monday’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court, details were heard of how a number of drivers were speeding on the N13 at Killyverry, a 100km/hr zone.

Amanda Greene, Gortnamona, Dungloe, was caught speeding at 109km/hr on November 1, 2025, at Killyverry.

Just three days later on November 4, she was recorded passing the same fixed camera at 111km/hr. Both fixed penalty notices were unpaid. Judge Emile Daly fined the driver a total of €670, allowing four months to pay.

Joseph Kennedy, The Green, Ballymacool, Letterkenny, was recorded driving at 126km/hr on October 26, 2025. On non-payment of the fixed penalty notice, Judge Daly fined him €380 with four months to pay.

Sean McRoarty, Ardeskin, Donegal Town, was caught driving at 117km/hr on October 8, 2025 according to Sergeant Jim Collins. Having not paid his fixed penalty notice, he was fined €350, with four months to pay.

The court heard that Andrew Scally, The Pines, Herbert Park, Ballsbridge, Dublin, was caught at 110km/hr on November 1, 2025. Scally did not pay the fixed penalty and was fined €350 with four months to pay.

Rhys McElhinney, Craigadoes, St Johnston, was found to be travelling at 117km/hr on November 8, 2025, the court heard. On non-payment, McElhinney was fined €350 with four months to pay.

Scott Magee, Heath Hill, Newtowncunningham, was caught speeding twice on the same day by the Killyverry fixed camera.

The offences occurred in the early hours of July 19, 2025, just over one hour apart — recorded first at 109km/hr and then at 117km/hr an hour later. Magee did not pay the fixed penalties and Judge Daly fined him a total of €690 with four months to pay.

Jayne Gallagher, Abbey Park, Manorcunningham, was recorded travelling at 112km/hr in a 100km/hr zone on February 21, 2025, and did not pay the fixed penalty notice issued, the court heard.

On October 28, 2025, she was again recorded by the Killyverry camera at 108km/hr with that fixed penalty also going unpaid. Judge Daly fined the driver a total of €690 with four months to pay.
