€1,000 worth of Local Property Tax (also known as LPT) funds will go towards a County Kildare family event.

The matter was decided at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, July 15 last.

During the early stages of this meeting, Independent councillor Pat Balfe proposed the allocation of €1,000 to Kildare County Council’s Community Section.

Cllr Balfe specified that he wanted these funds to assist Crockaun Way Residents Association, which in turn would use the funds to support a planned family event.

His nomination was proposed by Sinn Féin Cllr Noel Connolly and seconded by Social Democrats Cllr Chris Pender.

Following this process, the allocation was approved by Kildare County Council.
