Sean McGinley 23 charged with possession of cannabis Letterkenny

A Letterkenny man has appeared in court charged with possessing over €2,000 worth of cannabis for sale or supply.

The case of Sean McGinley (23) of Glenlee Court, Ballymacool, Letterkenny came before Letterkenny District Court on Monday.

McGinley is charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling or supplying it to others, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977. The alleged offence dates from January 31, 2023.

Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court the drugs were valued at €2,232.60 and weighed 111.63g.

Judge Emile Daly accepted jurisdiction and set a hearing date of September 29.

Disclosure is to be furnished to McGinley’s solicitors, PA Dorrian and Co., by the end of August.

Legal aid was granted following an application by Ms Alison Parke on behalf of the accused.
