Donegal County Council has given assurance that disabled parking spaces at Letterkenny’s Market Square will be restored when redevelopment works are completed.
Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh raised the issue after receiving a number of queries about the two spaces, which he said are currently "badly missed" during construction.
The Council confirmed in a written response at this week's meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District that the two disability spaces will be retained following construction.
Cllr Donal Coyle, who seconded the motion, asked whether they would return to the same location.
He was told the spaces would be located outside the PTSB building, as provided for in the Market Square plans.
The landmark town-centre project is currently being progressed by local contractors Boyle Construction.
The 'Reimagined Market Square' will replace the old public realm with two new accessible plaza areas, creating space for civic events and social purposes.
