‘Through an Irish Lens,’ the latest exhibition of photographs by the Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club, is set to launch on May 5 at 5.30pm in the Longford Library.
Showcasing images of Irish life, the stunning exhibition is free and open to the public.
Following the official launch of the exhibition on May 5, attendees can enjoy a photo walk along the Mall at 6.30pm which is also open to members of the public. One of the beautiful images which forms part of the upcoming exhibition from Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club
Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council , Cllr Garry Murtagh, said the exhibition is proof that art “is not the preserve of galleries in capital cities.”
He said, “Edgeworthstown's photographers have found something worth seeing in the ordinary everyday reality of Irish life. I am proud that Longford County Council can give their work the platform it deserves."

Chief Executive of Longford County Council Paddy Mahon added, "The Creative Ireland programme exists precisely for projects like this one - where community comes together to celebrate their creativity and skill. I would urge members of the public to take the time to come and visit this exhibition from the Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club ."
The exhibition will run from Tuesday, May 5 until Friday, May 16.
Founded in February 2024, The Edgeworthstown Library Photography Club brings together a wide range of photographers, from those with a smartphone camera to those working with professional-grade DSLR equipment.
The club meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from 6:30pm to 7:45pm. New members - at any level of experience - are always welcome.
