Road Closures Announced As Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally Returns This Weekend

Drivers are being urged to watch out for a number of road closures around the county this weekend to facilitate the 2026 edition of the Wexford Volkswagen Stages Rally.

North Main Street in Wexford Town will be closed to traffic this Friday night between Monck Street and Charlotte Street to allow for the ceremonial start of the event.

This year’s course takes in routes around Galbally, Old Ross and Rathnure on Saturday with various road closures for the entire day.

The final day of racing is Sunday with the competitiors taking to the roads around Blackwater, Boolavogue and Ballymurn.

Road Closures: North Main Street (L3500-2&3) from its junction at the Bullring to its junction with Georges Street Lower, Monck Street (L7506-1), and Charlotte Street (L7507-1).

Alternative Routes: The Bullring to Cornmarket to Abbey Street to Temperance Road to Westgate to Redmond Square to North Main Street via the L7531, L7525, L7526 and the R730.
