Visual Spectrum has been awarded the contract for Lú Festival of Light in Drogheda .

Taking place from 23rd to 26th October 2026, Lú Festival of Light will once again transform the walls and heritage buildings in Drogheda into a vibrant canvas of illumination, storytelling, and immersive experiences.

Commenting on the success of the festival, Cllr Michelle Hall, Mayor of Drogheda said:

“Lú Festival of Light delivers tangible benefits for the people of Drogheda, animating our public spaces, celebrating our rich heritage, and driving footfall and economic activity across the town. It has become an event that the community takes real pride in, strengthening Drogheda’s reputation as a vibrant place to live, work and visit.

This success is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the team behind the festival, whose collaborative approach has been central to its continued growth and impact.”

Trevor Connolly, CEO of Love Drogheda BID, welcomed the renewed partnership:

Over recent editions, Visual Spectrum has delivered striking projection mapping and urban animation installations across Drogheda including St Peters Church, Laurence’s Gate, and the Old Abbey, captivating audiences with visually stunning interpretations of iconic Irish mythological figures. Their ability to blend cutting-edge technology, bespoke soundscapes and a compelling narrative has become a hallmark of the festival.

Looking ahead to 2026, the partnership will continue to evolve this thematic journey, with new stories and innovative visual experiences set to be unveiled. This year’s festival will also form part of Fáilte Ireland’s “Home of Halloween” programme, further enhancing its national and international appeal.

Visual Spectrum also welcomed the announcement, noting their pride in contributing to a festival that has grown significantly in reputation and impact and their continued involvement promises to deliver another year of boundary-pushing creative production.
