A local councillor has called for a extend bus route which passes through County Kildare to a hospital situated in County Dublin.

Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney made the request at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which took place on Friday, June 5 last.

Labour Party Cllr Angela Feeney | FILE PHOTO During the early stages of the meeting, she motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to write to ‘both the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Health Service Executive (HSE) requesting that the 139 bus route be extended to James Connolly Hospital’.

Replying to Cllr Feeney’s motion, KCC had this to say: “If this motion is passed by the members, KCC will write to the NTA and the HSE.”

Following a brief vote, it was overwhelmingly agreed that KCC would write to both organisations on behalf of Cllr Feeney.
