Offaly court gives gardai more time in criminal organisation charge case

Sergeant Brendan Kearns told Tullamore District Court the book of evidence in relation to Blazej Ozanski (31), with addresses at Hawthorn Way, Ridge Road, Portlaoise and College View, Mountmellick , is still being prepared and applied for an extension of time for its service to October 7 next.

Mr Ozanski, who is on bail, indicated he had no objection to the application and Judge Andrew Cody remanded him to appear again on that date.

Blazej Ozanski allegedly had cannabis in his possession, and cannabis in his possession for sale or supply to others, at the storage facility, Townspark, Mountmellick, on February 16 last.

Offaly rail users urged to back campaign for later Dublin train Mr Ozanski is also charged with committing an offence contrary to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act between May 15, 2024 and February 16, 2026.

That charge alleges that he did, with the knowledge of the existence of a criminal organisation, participate or contribute to activities, to wit the fitting of sophisticated concealed compartments in motor vehicles, intending to or being reckless as to whether such participation or contribution could enhance the ability of the criminal organisation or any of its members to commit a serious offence, or facilitate the commission by the criminal organisation or any of its members of a serious offence.
