Man due before court next week on serious Offaly road traffic charges

A MAN is scheduled to appear at Tullamore Circuit Court next week in connection with alleged offences over a year ago in Daingean.

Simon Donagher (38), Bishops Wood Road, Portarlington , appeared on bail at the Circuit Court last month and Judge Ronan Munro was told he is accused of two counts of dangerous driving , including dangerous driving causing serious harm, in Daingean on April 3, 2025.

Previously there were also charges in the District Court alleging that Mr Donagher failed to report an occurrence of injury to a person at Main Street, Daingean, caused €187,000 worth of damage to a private dwelling at Main Street, Daingean, and failed to offer a person assistance at Main Street to escape civil or criminal liability.

On the application of Shane Geraghty, BL, prosecuting, Judge Munro remanded Mr Donagher on bail to appear before the Circuit Court on Wednesday, June 3 for arraignment.
