Bestselling author among highlights of upcoming Longford Hedge School weekend

Three days of celebrating music, local history, culture and entertainment is set to take place at the Latin School Community Centre in Moyne this coming weekend, from May 22-24.

Latin School Community Centre One of the highlights of the weekend will be the event, ‘an evening with bestselling Longford author John Connell’, which will take place on Sunday, May 24 at 6pm.

As part of the May Gatherings, the author will deliver a special talk as part of the festival celebrations.

Latin School Community Centre The weekend has a colourful line up of events scheduled and those attending can look forward to art workshops, traditional Irish music and song, Irish language activities, social dancing and a range of other cultural events aimed at celebrating local heritage and community spirit.

The weekend will also feature talks and panel discussions exploring the legacy of Hedge Schools and their impact on education and community life in Ireland.
