Near the end of this meeting, Labour Party Cllr Aoife Breslin asked KCC to provide an update on the TIC process for Branswood in Athy.
TIC refers to the formal legal process by which responsibility for certain public areas, structures and services in a private residential development or estate are transferred to, or put in the charge of, a local authority — in this case, KCC.

“Works to decommission the existing WWPS and construct a new pumping station are currently underway and are expected to be completed in the coming weeks.”
KCC also asserted to Cllr Breslin that it is continuing to liaise with Uisce Éireann ‘in relation to the TIC of the water and wastewater infrastructure, including the new WWPS, with a view to facilitating the TIC of the overall estate’.
“Separately, a survey of the estate will be undertaken in the coming weeks to identify any remaining surface defects requiring remedial works,” KCC added.
Following this, Cllr Breslin said that she wanted to thank KCC for ‘tending to the area’, also told KCC that she ‘knows this isn’t an easy task’.
However, she also claimed that, at some points of the development process, ‘the contractor’s attitude hasn’t been the best’.
