Is cloch mhíle shuntasach inár gcaidrimh é conchlúid an Chomhaontaithe Saorthrádála idir An India agus an tAontas Eorpach inniu. Gabhaim buíochas le ceannairí uile na hEorpa thar na blianta as a spiorad cuiditheach agus as a dtiomantas a rinne an éacht seo indéanta. Neartóidh an…
Deir lucht a cháinte go bhfuil sé ag treorú an India i dtreo na h-éite deise agus tagraíonn siad dá chúlra mar náisiúnaí sa traidisiún Hiondúch. Ach díríonn a thacadóirí áird ar an chabhair a thugann sé do na bochtáin tre íocaíochta leasa shoisíalta agus bealaí eile go bhfuil sé tar éis an India a chuir ar bhóthar a leasa.
Ní raibh aon teachtaireacht as Gaeilge ó Uachtarán an Choimisiún Eorpaigh, Ursula Von Der Leyen.
Chuir go leor a chonaic a phostáil ar X fáilte roimis. Dar le Criostóir Ó Faoláin, ba dhea scéal abea an chomhaontú saor-thrádála. “Ní neart go cur le chéile,” dúirt sé.
Dar le Gearóid Ó Mórdha, tá moladh tuillte ag Modi as meas a léiriú ar theanga dhúchais na hÉireann.
Bhí roinnt teachtaireachtaí cáinteacha freisin ó phostálaithe a léirigh míshástacht go raibh an Ghaeilge á úsáid, dar leo, ag duine ón iasacht.
Tá sé ráite ag scoláirí teanga agus cultúir go bhfuil ceangal laidir idir cultúr na hÉireann agus India agus is iomaí malartú chultúrtha a thárla idir an dhá thír. Ar cheann acu seo bhí malartú ceolmhar ina raibh an chumadóir Peadar Ó Riada agus ceoltóirí móra le rá ó India, Ustad Wajahat Khan, agus a léiríodh sa scannán Continuing Traditions leis an déantóir scannáin aitheanta Dónal Ó Céilleachair.
