At 10am this morning, March 30, Longford County Council officially opened its portal to applications from prospective buyers interested in the new affordable housing scheme in Longford town.

To launch their new affordable housing scheme, Longford County Council recently opened up their showhouse for viewing. You can check out the pictures of the showhouse here or click the video above to take a quick virtual tour.

Director of Services, Director of Services, Samantha Healy , who was in attendance on the day explained the application process and said applicants will be supported by a dedicated team in the council.

“People can make applications to the Affordable Purchase Scheme through Longford County Council’s website where they will find the Affordable Homes page and they can follow the link to the applications portal."

"There is a step by step guide that will help people through the process and all applicants will be supported by a team here in Longford County Council."

"In addition to the up to €95,000 equity that is available to purchase these homes, applicants can also avail of the Help to Buy Scheme which also gives them access of up to €30,000 reduction on the cost of their home.”
